Police arrests two robbery suspects in Ogun

Operatives of the Ogun State Police Command in collaboration with the members of the community, has reportedly arrested two men for allegedly robbing a female lecturer, identified as, Busola Salako, in Ogun State.

According to PUNCH, the suspects, identified as Ramon Akindele, 22 and Paul King, 20, had carried out their operation at the Unity area of Iyesi Ota in Ado- Odo Ota Local Government area of the state.

While speaking to the police, the victim, revealed that she was in the house with her maid, when the generator went off, adding that, she had asked the maid to go check what the problem was.

She also told the police, that she was alerted by her maid’s scream and had quickly bolted the door, before making a distress call to the police and some members of the community.

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer for the command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, revealed that the suspects were arrested following a distress call by the victim, at about 11pm, on Friday.

Abimbola, said that, during interrogation, one of the suspect, Akindele, revealed that information about the victim was disclosed to him and one, Raphael Solarin by the king of the community.

He further revealed that the command had recovered from the suspects a UTC knife and an ordinary knife.

He added that, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ahmed Iliyasu, has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the Special Anti- Robbery Squad for discrete investigation and prosecution.
